Tuesday, September 19. 2006Pope Does an Unapology I'm glad to see that Muslim's, as well as other fellow citizens of this world, are not accepting Pope Benedict XVI's slick maneuver to quash the uproar that followed his inflammatory statement in which he quoted from a Medieval text suggesting that some teachings by the Prophet Muhammad are "evil and inhuman." For myself, I was reminded of a moment when someone tried to brush me off with a fake apology. But by doing so, they only managed to add ill-will to their initial offense. Here is what I heard coming from the lips of the Pope. "I'm sorry you got all bent out of shape over some little thing I said a while back.

Now, this may be an unfair characterization, but it seems to me that MUSLIMS in general look for ANY excuse to become "outraged" so they can then go on a destructive rampage..
And the world is supposed to just nod and say, "Oh well, it's OK.. They are "outraged"...??
Muslims need to wake up and realize that NO RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS give permission or mitigation for this kind of behavior.
Now, as I said, this might be unfairly painting all Muslims with the brush of a few. (RK Enkow over on HuffPo claimed that only one in 43,000 muslims have ever participated in a riot. I think he pulled that figure out of his ass, because I asked him to cite his source and he ignored me.. As an aside...I HATE being ignored.
Now don't get me wrong. The pope was a moron for saying what he did without qualifying it better. I have no problem with assigning blame where it should be assigned..
But that "slight" is incidental to this issue, which is why are Muslims so "outraged" at the drop of a dime??

I'm really having trouble understanding the left nowadays. What happened to love of free speech, meaning one can speak freely without being in fear of him or other people dying?

However, I believe that in this case, the stream runs both ways.
The Christian cause has also exercised intolerance, barberism, and hyper emotional behavior.
To me, they are different sides of the same coin.
Therefore, I do not believe that the Pope has a right to preach what is not praticed by his own.
