Thank you, AlterNet, for this list of the Top 10 Signs of the Impending U.S. Police State. "High Ranking Whistleblowers" is one of my favorites, right after the voting machines: as a programmer, I know something about the subject, and it's just plain crazy to let a company, ANY company, have absolute power over your vote without some kind of accountability.

And for Mr. Sancho, who may lose his job as Director of Elections because he can't legally get touchscreen voting machines that work: why not investigate the Open Voting Consortium? They've got free, auditable voting software that leaves a paper trail.
