Hippo Humor for the Politically Bedraggeled

It's really touching to see something so imposing, (as only a Hippo can be) filled with such ... gentle tenderness.

And then ...

As we go deep into a 'fuzzy' moment with Happy the Hippo, we discover she's filled with a little more than just

'gentle tenderness'.

What made the last few seconds especially funny for me was the fact that the camera guy was ready and waiting with his camera aimed strategically at the location of the anticipated event, as if to say "This one's for YouTube".

Cheney's Phooey Tour

Dick Cheney continues to drive his tank of phooey through the streets of America in an attempt to institute a national mindset that would embrace 'enhanced interrogation techniques' (longhand for torture) because it helped thwart another attack on American soil.

Lest we forget ... 911, 911, 911.

This unsubstantiated statement will hopefully reach a watermark of resistance even though it's buoyancy will be maintained by the MSM who continues to enjoy an ongoing paid vacation away from investigative journalism - so long as it continues to kiss the ring, that is.

If we are going to be dreary enough to give over to Cheney's twist-tie 911/torture logic, then why not consider giving credence to other unsubstantiated claims as well?

For instance, I'll make the claim that the reason you don't see any elephants storming the streets of Manhattan is because they're afraid of cabdrivers.

When held over a bucket, we see that one claim holds about as much water as the other.

However, despite the fact that both statements are bottom-heavy (and twirpy I might add), HIS gets a good polishing on it's way through the national bullhorn - while mine decomposes in a far away pasture of cow pies.

Perhaps Cheney thought McCain would be finagled into the White House, (much like he was) which would have allowed him to kick-back with confidence and a free ride into the sunset ... accompanied by banjos, no less.

But instead, here he is, having to make a big stink nearly everyday, traveling about pressing the press, milking the media, wading waist deep in the goo of messy investigations, oath taking, and other lip curling stuff meant for mere 'commoners'. Oh yea ... and that exclusively for others torture thing too.

Let go of the stick Dick ... just let go ...

We're Just Serfs, Servants, and Suckers to The Fed

The truth about who the real overlords of our government are is gradually being exposed as the fabric of our economy rips under the weight of a collapsing system created by the most polished, protected and pinheaded scheme in the history of man. - The Federal Reserve -

'The Fed' is flanked by a cartel of corrupt financiers, e.g. Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, AIG, and the rest of spanky's gang - who after years of passing the pipe of plenty to one another, are now completely and forever addicted to privilege.

As well, the people who run these institutions are all-interchangeable and view our outrage as a temporary inconvenience to be tolerated until they finish repairing the curtain.

Looking at the above picture, you may notice a force field of arrogance surrounding New York Federal Reserve President William Dudley (R) Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke (C) and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (L) as they sit inconvenienced by a 'for show only' Congressional Hearing while waiting for their daily spa treatment to be rescheduled.

These silk tied money shifters seize unlimited power unto themselves, illegally consolidate wealth, and brush off those who dare ask "what happened to the people's gold" - as if they were fleas.

So how do these shameless cash croppers move through Capital Hill without a ski mask?

Well to start with, their sense of entitlement comes from the fact that they and their predecessors own Capital Hill - they've owned it since 1913.

For those of you who may view this as just an outlandish theory, please keep in mind that all it takes is one person installed at the door to let through those who have the super-duper $ecret password.
And it's this lopsided flow of influence into the Treasury Department that makes D.C. wear a different set of gloves when handling the auto industry's bailout.

I know it's unpleasant to acknowledge the Federal Reserve Bank as the major stinker in all of this, but acknowledge we must, or be prepared to hold our noses for a REALLY long time.

The Teflon Grace of Michelle Obama

It's comical to watch militant opponents of the Obama administration pecking about in search of something/anything they can smear Michelle with - the 'bare arms flap' stands witness to this laughable fact.
She's the slippery stone in the shoe of their none-stop, leave-no-slur behind campaign meant to chip away at the public's faith and admiration for our newly elected President.

- Because if 'guilt by association' is to be believed in, then so is 'adoration by association'. -

Michelle has handed the smoke blowers a Rubic's cube by calmly living a life of unwavering, purposeful servitude.

Geithner-A-Go-Go?

I'm very grateful to have Obama in our White House and I sincerely believe that he is doing more good for the people than the media gives him credit.

However, Geithner has always bothered me in so much as he is a handoff from the very system that brought us our present economic tsunami.

And that Obama somehow chose him over other viable candidates seems to put weight into the suggestion that our 'profit driven' banking system comes prepackaged for the position.

If you look at the string of Secretary of Treasury picks in the White House, they are typically heads of the 'Federal Reserve Bank'.

Now consider that the Federal Reserve is pretty much in control of all other banks and lending institutions - even though it's a privately owned bank.

From this point of view, it would appear that the Federal Reserve has an unchallenged upper hand in our government.

Or more precisely, our government ANSWERS to a privately owned bank.

Cheney and Perino Defend Eight Year Beer and Burrito Binge Aftermath

Must speak softly ...

If you get close enough
to her left ear,

from somewhere in her cranium -
accompanied by a slight clicking,

Former White House spokesperson Dana Perino said on Sunday that the Bush administration
" ... deserved some credit for the modest uptick that
Wall Street experienced this past week".

Appearing on CSPAN's Washington Journal, she quickly followed up on that "modest uptick" and the possibility for a turnaround thing, with this:

"Can all the credit go specifically to
President Obama? Well, I would say no. We are just going to have to
take a while to let all of this settle down and let the policies that
our administration and the new administration are trying to put in
place have a chance to work."

(Notice her use of the 'present tense' when referring to 'our administration' (as in the shrub) and the idea of success.)

The effort to credit the market boost to the Bush administration's fiscal policy was not Perino's alone, however. Former Vice Pustule Cheney also nabbed airtime on Sunday in what appeared to be a campaign for creating a completely fabricated debate over who stunk up the room after eight years of beers and burritos, claiming that he " didn't think it was fair to blame Bush for creating the current economic woes".

He then followed up his remarkably ignorant comment with his predictable trademark 'screw you' smirk,
after which security hoisted him back into his box and nailed the lid shut
... until nightfall.

As for Dana ...

she's been returned to Cheney's basement

where she will remain plugged in

until further use.

A Message for Muntadlhar al-Zeidi and the People of Iraq

To Muntadhar al-Zeidi:

I am saddened by the harsh sentence you have received
for doing what many perceive as a perfectly
justifiable gesture
considering that the man behind the podium
threw FAR worse things
at your people.

To the people of Iraq:
On behalf of many USA citizens - I wish to apologize for the actions of George W. Bush and his accomplices.
They inflicted immeasurable hardship and misery upon your country
and deserve far worse than a couple of tossed shoes.

Planting Seeds That Poison

As long as (R) Norm Coleman of Minnesota can keep fighting the results of the November 2008 election for Senate seat, (with help from the GOP coffers, no doubt) he and his party, by way of the court system, can keep (D) Al Franken from being sworn in as acting Senator, thereby clipping the Senates wings on the side of the floor with the imposing (D), as powder accumulates around the feet of a bunch of teeth grinders on the side with the deflated (r) .

But the bigger picture here is the GOP's increasing gyration as they swirl about the nation in a somewhat desperate but methodical attempt to distract, derail, and damage their opposition.

'I hope Obama fails' is the latest GOP mantra, born from Franken's nemesis - Rush Limbaugh, (see - Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot by Al Franken) with more and more members taking up this war chant in order to give it legitimacy.

In all likelihood, this stunningly brazen display of 'party before country' will reach an uncomfortable decibel in days to come as the GOP play snake charmer to the increasing desperation of the masses.

What we have here is a very calculated, full-blown campaign of 'confidence crushing' against our newly elected president.

If we don't stay mindful of this fact, we will be sucked back into the mire we are trying to escape.

Turd Blossom Pitches a Curved One

Appearing on Fox News, former Bush chief strategist, Karl, Turd Blossom, Rove said that John McCain had stretched the truth in his recent round of attacks against Barack Obama, in the process opening up the Arizonan to a round of effective counter-attacks.

"McCain has gone in his ads one step too far, and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent-truth test."

This disingenuous statement by Rove is little more than a well crafted attempt to dim the lights on the fact that his boy McCain is running a full-in-your-face, shameful campaign.

Rove is trying to scrape some of that smelly mud off of the encrusted GOP tool, and smear it on Obama so that he can claim both candidates are involved in the same smear tactics.

How could anyone (who has paid any attention over the last 8 years) believe that Rove, turd blossom extraordinaire, would actually come out voluntarily and tisk-tisk his own possible future boss?
